The Lions Club of Diggers Rest is pleased to announce The Diggers Rest green project. This project is facilitated by the Lions Club of Diggers Rest along with a World Environment Day Grant, which is proudly supported by Melton City Council.
Our aim is to enhance the levels of flora and fauna in Diggers Rest, supporting our community’s developing interest in gardening, wellbeing, sustainability and engagement with the environment by organising native tube stock and/or vegetable seedlings for residences to plant in their gardens.
This project is open to anyone residing in Diggers Rest, you do not need to be a home owner but you will need to provide evidence of residency when collecting your plants.
We will be ordering the plants from local nurseries and aim to have the plants ready to be collected in September 2022. Once the orders are scheduled to be delivered each recipient will be contacted by the Lions Club and notified about collection days and times for their order.
It is difficult to ascertain how popular our project will be, therefore when filling in the form we ask you to elect your first and second choice of plants. We hope to be able to provide both but may be limited to one plant per household. Orders will be filled according to the date that the form was received.
